Honest Review of this series

Chainsaw Man's debut episode was a strong pilot for the start of this eagerly anticipated series; MAPPA did a fantastic job (as always), and I'm looking forward to seeing where the plot goes. Excellent voice performance, character design, and animation that is expertly handled. Characters and the world are both fascinating. As the plot progresses, the anime will undoubtedly have the chance to demonstrate its true strength and distinctiveness, even though it now feels fairly derivative. In any case, this anime is off to a tremendously exciting start and is sure to become a new classic in the coming years.

Series-SYNOPSIS/PLOT:

One day, Denji is betrayed and killed by the yakuza, who use him as bait for a powerful devil. However, Pochita fuses with Denji’s corpse and revives him as a hybrid of human and chainsaw devil. Denji then meets Makima, a mysterious woman who works for the Public Safety Devil Hunters, a government organization that fights against devils. Makima recruits Denji as her subordinate and promises to fulfill his simple dreams, such as having food, a home, and a girlfriend.

Denji joins Makima’s team, which consists of Aki Hayakawa, a serious and cold-hearted devil hunter who lost his family to devils; Power, a fiend who is possessed by the blood devil and acts like a spoiled child; Himeno, a cheerful and kind-hearted devil hunter who has a contract with the ghost devil; Kobeni Higashiyama, a clumsy and unlucky devil hunter who hates her job; and Kishibe, a veteran and legendary devil hunter who trains Denji.

Denji’s life as a devil hunter is filled with danger, violence, gore, humor, and emotion. He faces various enemies, such as the bat devil, the eternity devil, the bomb devil, the katana devil, and the gun devil. He also develops friendships and bonds with his teammates, especially Aki and Power, who become his family. He also falls in love with Makima, who manipulates him with her charm and power.

The first season of Chainsaw Man covers the first four arcs of the manga: Introduction arc, Bat Devil arc, Eternity Devil arc, and Katana Man arc. It ends with a cliffhanger that sets up the next season: Makima reveals that she is actually the control devil, the embodiment of humanity’s fear of being controlled. She has been using Denji as her pawn to eliminate her rivals and achieve her ultimate goal: to create a world where everyone is happy under her control. She kills Aki, who becomes the weapon devil after making a contract with the future devil; she enslaves Power, who sacrifices herself to save Denji; and she brainwashes Denji’s friends and allies to turn against him. She then tells Denji that he is actually Chainsaw Man, the legendary devil hunter who has devoured many devils in history, including the ones that Makima wants to erase from existence. She plans to kill Denji and eat his heart to gain his power and reshape the world according to her will.

The first season of Chainsaw Man is an adaptation of one of the best shonen manga of recent years. It combines action, horror, comedy, drama, and romance in a unique and captivating way. It also features stunning animation by Studio MAPPA, which brings the manga’s art style to life with fluidity and detail.
